Z Massage Therapy
Deep Tissue massages use similar strokes to the Swedish massage but pressures are longer, firmer and focus on areas of pain and tension. The therapist manipulates muscles that are below the surface of the top muscles and the connective tissues. “Against grain” strokes are used to break fiber adhesion, oxygenize the muscles and get rid of toxins. Hot stone massage promotes relaxation and opens the energy pathways. The warmth helps release tight muscles and enhances the soothing effect of the pressure. It also expands blood vessels and therefore improves blood circulation throughout the body. Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. It seeks to unify physiological, psychological and spiritual processes to enhance an individual's innate healing process. A couples massage is a wonderfully relaxing, personal experience. During the session, two people receive massages at the same time and in the same room from two different therapists. The therapy provides many of the same benefits as other types of massage but with some added bonuses. Back Walking coupled with Swedish or Deep Tissue massage allows our therapist to provide a much deeper penetration of the muscle targeting specific pressure points than they can provide with their hands. Foot reflexology is based on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet that correspond to every organ, gland and part of the body. For example, the toes represent the head and the ball of the foot represents the chest and lung region. Foot Reflexology massage can be a deeply relaxing and therapeutic modality for those suffering from plantar fasciitis, ankle injuries or even everyday work and play. |
